General Stiffening the chassis

I'm about to inherent a 1980 Fiat 124 spider 2000. It's been sitting for the last 27 years. In my research I've been surprised by how little weight capacity it has. Is there any way to stiffen up the frame which will allow more than 350 lb for safe capacity?
