Hi everyone, i brought my first car in april, a 2002 fiat punto sporting with 35500 miles on it!(y) I recently passed my test on the 13th june and started driving on the 15th, but when my step dad drove the car home with me in april he said the clutch felt very stiff, on my first drive of the car on the 15th of this month i did think myself the clutch was very hard and this made gear changes alot of the time quite jolty.. on the 4th day of driving the clutch started to ease up and i thought to myself maybe it needed to just be driven but as i got home from work i went to go to my mates and the slave cylinder broke causing loads of hydraulic fluid to leek everywhere:cry: Why did it break and why is the clutch so stiff? Did the slave cylinder break due to the clutch being stiff? Any reasons to why this problems happened would be much help!

Thanks, Dan.

diaphragm goes solid with age/time causing your problem
it needs a new clutch
you might find theres a plastic spacer between clutch mechanism and the slave cylinder (you need this)
this usually breaks if pedal really hard but yours might have also lost its cylinder when it broke
