Just picked up a 2008 Punto Grande 1.2 Active for my daughter as her first car. It's a good long while since I drove a Punto, the missus had a nice MK2 about 12 years ago, but this seems a pretty nice place to be for an almost 10 year old motor.

It has a few little niggles which I'm working through, but the main one is the stereo head unit which just doesn't seem to do what it should. Saved radio stations disappear, trying to change Balance / Fader / Bass / Treble seems impossible as pressing left / right arrows seem to flick it into other options instead of changing the actual values. So I'm guessing that although it works to some degree that maybe the right hand switch, the one with the arrows on is just shot.

There seem to be a few around in dismantlers but are both the Grundig and the Blaupunkt units interchangable? Is one more reliable than the other?

Cheers in advance.

I'm no mechanic, but I'll tell you what I would do and that's swap like for like.

I have no idea what the rationale was for sticking Grundigs in some cars and Blaupunkts in others but I'd defer to Fiat's wisdom and do as they did (y)

I'd only ever replace my Blaupunkt with another one - I'd be worried about it not working with Blue & Me and the rest of the steering wheel controls 100%
