Stupid question time but thought I'd ask anyway..

Looking at a steering wheel stereo adaptor for a JVC DVD head unit and found the two on this site.

I'm guessing a 2007 panda 100HP will be the canbus one?

I don't think steering controls on the Panda are canbus controllable. I think they're the only model where they're not as they've not got proper B&M. I could be wrong though.

Then again the 100HP has bluetooth, so this might be a case of being canbus controlled. Do phone functions come up on the instrument cluster screen at all?

Not to my knowledge ... I've read that you'll lose the radio stations name appearing on the dash if that's something that bothers you.

From what I have read, there is one loom that allows for updates via USB?

Nothing comes up on instrument cluster and it just shows phone on head unit.
Not too worried about station names on the dash as I tend to use my iPhone for streaming to the JVC unit in car it's currently in.

Couple of other posts seem to imply it might work, so I will call them and see.

I fitted a cheap Chinese double din and wired up the steering wheel controls, it was really easy because there not controlled through the canbus, there an analogue signal that send different resistances through the two wires, then to ground.

Hope this helps

Thats great, thanks.
I think I saw a post last night along these lines.

Will get the single din facia and fit the stereo then decide on using the steering wheel buttons or not, and speak to the seller.

Anyone know if you can get the phone buttons to work on an aftermarket stereo wiring loom?

They all seem to say the phone buttons stop working but volume etc will work

When I fitted my double din and canbus adaptor, initially the phone buttons worked, so i could activate voice dailing and hang up, but the other buttons didn't work.

I then realised I needed to connect the remote lead and now its swapped the other way round.
Not really bothered as I haven't set up voice dialing on my iPhone & I can select names from the HU.

You have to be very precise in the order you connect the leads.
Found a diagram somewhere that shows the canbus must be connected first

At some point I plan to add a camera and subwoofer, so I will have another play to see if I can get all the buttons working

Do you know which wiring loom adaptor you bought?

Hi Gavin,

Yeah I got the following leads :

1 x CON-CTSFA006 - CTSFA006 Stalk Adapter for Fiat Panda
1 x CON-CTJVCLEAD2 - Connects2 JVC Stalk Adaptor

If you go to the connects2 website, there is also a wiring diagram somewhere that says you should plug in the connects2 first.
I followed the logical flow of that pic and all good. (y)
