Hi All
Looking at the tired and pink badge on my steering wheel was getting on my wick so decided it was time for a change.
I found a lovely curved Abarth wheel centre badge from a UK seller on eBay measuring 56mm in diameter which was going to cover up the fiat one perfectly.
I placed the new badge on the fiat one but there was a large gap around the outside edge which I wasn't going to be happy about.
After a cup of tea I thought the only way this was going to look OEM was removing the fiat one.
Now ive herd all the stories and all the negative stuff but thought sod it I'm going to get this badge off.
The fiat badge is held on by about six metal tabs and not stuck on, so I got a knife and at an angle in the centre of the badge managed to cut through and with side cutters peel the badge off on parts leaving the tab in place these were then cut close to the mounting area.
The centre of the area is quite domed and to much for the Abarth badge and needed a small spacer around the outside edge so I used a rubber washer from a bath overflow kit I had knocking about it it was perfect (Any plumbing outlet would sell these)
I added a bit of sealant to hold the rubber washer in place and on sticking the Abarth badge using masking tape as a handle I had a perfect fit with no gap
As you can see from the pics the old fiat badge is really thin
The job took about an hour to do and I'm really happy how this turned out
So... Go On Have a go[emoji106]

Ordered this centre badge ring to go around the outside edge of the Abarth badge
inside diameter of ring is exactly the same as the outside diameter of new badge
Sort of an afterthought really might look nice...or not... but it was only £2.87 from China.
