I have checked the wheel alignment FAQ. The local Fiat dealer changed a track rod end and after that we took it to have the wheels aligned at a specialist that said it had been so badly set up that it was off the scale.

I had the 4 wheel laser tracking alignment done and months later I do not have uneven tyre wear.

But I have to hold the steering wheel very slighty to the right to go in straight line. Any ideas what this could be? Its an 02 Abarth.

Hi could it be something as simple as the camber on the road ? or you can swap the front wheels around and see if it pulls the other way if it does have a good look at your tyres

thanks to the electric setup, there is a bit of play in the steering wheel around the centre point. every time i have the car aligned, its always a bit off centre, either to the left or to the right, even when the tech has tried to get it perfectly centred.

Best thing to do is to get the tech to fix it in position while the car is on and the power steering is fuctional. This way that 'play' will be minimal :)

Just make sure the tyres are not rotational
ie arrows on the side wall before swopping
sides.

could be the steering wheel was not set central
when the tracking was done. Some cars also require
the body weight of 75kg to be placed on the front
seats prior to adjustment being made.
Has one of the front springs snapped at the base.
Check the top of the spring turret under the bonnet
there are two holes on either sides the rubber lug
on the top of the spring swivel mount should be lined
up with the hole the rear one you should see light through
the fron one should be obsured by the rubber
lip. (I hope that's right)
