I am wondering about putting 14" rims on my project Uno 1600 road car.

I know with a small skim of the inside of the hub of Mazda Astina steel rims they would fit.

I have been looking on here for the specs for the rim. But I don't really know what I am looking for. I am sure this will be discussed somewhere.

I was going to get a set of rims from wreckers yard.

Any helpful pointers from those who know here.

Have you looked to see what size punto steelies are as they would fit straight on, i'm sure you can get fiat pcd steel rims from other models.

Are they the original uno steelies? or did you get them from another fiat?

If honest... no idea.

Dad gave it to me with them originally on the car, which I swapped over for the Turbo alloys, before switching them back to the original biscuits when I went fuel economy minded. They are in a dry place keeping safe. I might put them back on at point after winter. I want the fact that Im using thin wheels to keep my speed down a lot more on the wet/ slippery/ icy roads, going round roundabouts and other tight turns.

Get some Croma 14" steel wheels. They will be wider than a Punto. You'll need 185/50 tyres or the like

Only problem that I found with the wider wheels was that it would rub on the fuel filler down pipe (got in trouble at work for having a leaking fuel pipe), and the inside of the front left wheel would rub on the steering arm, causing a horrrible metal on metal grinding noise.

Since Im back to the thin ones, both the problems have been solved.

...and If I'm honest, I have many more important things to buy with my limited budget, such as a boiler (no heating or hot water for almost 2 years now ;) ) and the holes in the roof! :D
