Hey Guys,

I have read through the other threads on stealth shelves as I am looking at buying one of these:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/STEALTH-SHELV...859051505QQcategoryZ18805QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I need re-assuring basically, will that shelf be good for the money, or is it better to buy a more expensive one? What are the differences between that and a more expensive one?

Also, does the bass dramatically increase over a standard shelf?

Look forwards to hearing from you,

Cheers.

They're worth having as they're much stronger than a standard shelf, plus the speakers are hidden from the sight of thieving tosspots. But 50 quid is a lot of money for a shelf; you could make one yourself for about 15 quid using 12mm marine plywood, contact glue and acoustic carpet.

If you want bass get a sub. And ditch the rear speakers completely. Will give you better bass as the 6 x 9's or whatever your running on the shelf wont be interfering with the sub or sub interfering with the speakers.

Otherwise because its more rigid will allow better bass yeah. But if you wanna do it properly Build some small boxes around your speakers.

Im exactly the same about dragging soundstages back lol.

Just had my system finished today though :) very happy with it.

RE SE 12 sub Alpine MRV t420 powering my components up front which are 6 inch inphase xt's They sound pretty damn good for £100. Amp was only £130.

And the amp on my sub is alright but want a better one when i got some more money but its a lanzar opti SL800D.

Sounds damn good though had to turn the sub down and my speakers right up though had around 600w rms going into the sub and it was just overkill.
