hello i am new here and ive got the 1242 16v engine in mine i need a littel help will thw 1.4 engine fit strat in as ive got the 1.242 in it all ready some say yes some say i have to mod the stering rack and some say i have to grind the mount more can you settel this for one and all

and how much fASTER THAN the 1.242 is the 1.4
The 1.4 is prob an extra 15-20BHP and will make a noticeable difference.
Check your exhaust diameter is big enough for the 1.4, other than that its a straight swap. It would be recommended to remap the ECU, but will run it ok. No grinding/steering rack work.

Next little bit done after a week of intending to do it in an evening after work but something has always cropped up and not had the time anyway day off today so spent 3 hours changing and cleaning up the bumper off the old cinq and back panel on the new cinq then putting bumper back on....... pleased with the result and exhaust looks better now as it looked as though it hung to low before
Was extremely pleased with state of rear panel....not even a sign of any rust :yum::yum::yum:

Nothing interesting to report its all running as it should be and destroying everything i take on :yum::yum::yum: but today the new brake discs arrived,i already have grooved punto gt discs up front but couldnt resist getting x drilled and grooved for the bargain price of £19 the pair they are brand new and have never seen any use but were only put on a project that got scrapped....result for me :slayer:

i got gt3 calipers, greenstuff pads and grilled & grooved discs all arrive in one magic box they are used but barely - all still looks new
Well i say that, it was very poorly packaged and all over the back of the delivery guys van by the time he arrived at my house, we had to hunt down the bits from inbetween other parcels. Thankfully it all got here intact and undamaged

I hate scoobys, seats are nice but they blow up unless you uprate/forge everything if you tune them to any power worth having

Well I'm back and I've got the Cinq back off Liam and I've had her back for a year now and been using her everyday as my commuting car and she has knocked up 30000 miles and the only problem has been the starter packing up one weekend.
Anyway she is still a 1.2 8v after I converted her to 8v from 16v for Liam. Well now I have everything again to go back to 1.4 16v and hoping to get it done within the next 2 weeks!!!! Work permitting....
