Today was a dead day at work so got the alternator belt adjusted and then chopped the excess plastic off the inlet manifold so its looking a bit neater than what it did as per the before and after pics:D:D

Your back in at work already ? :worship:

Cant stop working no matter how bad i am as no work = no pay = council on ur back for the rent :mad: so i just keep plodding on and try to ignore the pains (y) today i had to service a mercedes ml270 on the floor:mad::mad::mad: i wasnt very impressed by it to say the least and i certainly let my views be known to the boss in no uncertain terms :tosser::tosser::tosser::D:D

i just walk away if someone asks me to help with there mercedes.. everything is a nightmare haha.. My dad asked me to change the oil, filters, plugs & leads on his CLK last year and i just looked at it and then rang the garage lol.
They sucked the oil out the top of the engine with a long pipe :eek: never seen it done like that before!! and to this day i have no idea how you get the back plugs out without taking the engine out, it looked impossible to me. Everything on a merc looks hard to get to on purpose.

Some of the A-class mercs have to have their oil sucked out...it really is a pita(y) and some of the german cars dont even have dipsticks now:eek: u just get the amount of oil needed off autodata throw it in and start it thats it:(:( certainly dont like that idea lol and with the clk plugs iirc the plastics over the top all come off and then still struggle a lot(y)

we have an a-class too.. but its fuct now really, need to get it reasonable and get rid i think..
Infact lots of mercs in the family. There's my van, my dad's CLK320, and my uncle has the old shape ML (i think its a 4.3l one) with a Brabus body-kit and wheels, he bought the SL500 off my dad too and the A-class is someones, not sure who's but we all use it when we don't want to put something in our car coz its dirty or whatever.

Got them at last :devil::devil:

Finally the first problem has reared its ugly head:D:D ive got something to do....was having a problem starting for the last 3 mornings,noticed that fuel pressure had dropped to 2 bar instead of 3 bar so adjusted fpr back to 3 bar and ran it for a day all good and thought cps was playing up as all i did each time was wipe a bit of paper towel over the face and then car started so got a new cps today and all seemed ok until it came to leave work and same problem and noticed that fuel pressure when i switched engine off pressure was dropping very quickly which normally it would take an hour to lose a bar in pressure not less than 60 seconds:bang::bang:
spoken to dan and chris to pick their brains and see if they thought same as me....lazy pump but since speaking to them i have been out and taken the fpr off and emptied the fuel and switched ignition on and fuel just humped out the fuel line so that blew my idea of lazy pump:rolleyes::rolleyes:
turned my attention to the fpr and blew and sucked thru its feeds and then reattached and now its holding pressure again:confused::confused: as it did before........just got to wait now till the morning and see if it starts normally as this seems to be the only real time its guaranteed to play up(n)(n) will report back tomorrow evening after work.......
On the plus side finally got a new engine breather filter after last one disappeared on way back from stanford hall.......

what fpr you got fella?? I know from experience the sard ones can't be opened up, most others can. My sard died and i couldn't find the receipt so no free replacement could be got, just got a cheapo ebay one on now (hence the extra gauges in my bay, them cheapy fpr's gauges mean nothing).

Still had the same problem this morning although fpr is still holding pressure but the fuel pump did make a few odd noises that i havent heard before:(:( so im leaning towards this being the problem.
Anyway i changed the fuel filter today and found that i hadnt changed it when i was building it although i thought i had:eek::eek: and when i took the old one off and drained it the bloody thing rattled when it was shook almost as thought the whole of the internals were loose and flopping about:eek::eek:
Since putting new filter on all has seemed ok but the true test will come in the morning yet again.....well early afternoon as its sunday,my day of rest:D:D just been on a run to south london to pick up a set of cinq alloys and tyres and never missed a beat once and each time i stopped it started no problem so it has to be a simple problem if the filter hasnt resolved it.......:cry:

cancel last comment it hasnt fixed it and pump is making some nasty noises and im going to pull the pump out in a bit and check the tbag filter on bottom of the pump is blocked with crap cause when it does sound normal on prime up it starts first time but if it makes the strange noises it wont start so figured out how to start it now as it is but its got to be sorted quickly:bang::bang::bang:
