Start Motor Question (Seicento and Punto parts the same?)

Hi,

My Mk1 Punto (1.2 8v) has recently been having trouble starting and I've narrowed it down to the starter motor, given it a good clean and although it solved it for a while, it must just be on the out... So... I have a Seicento Sporting (pre face lift) on which the starter motor is fine, I was wondering if the 2 are interchangable, same part number?

Punto is a Mk1 1.2 60SX 1998 Reg
Seicento is a 1.1 Sporting 2000 Reg

How'd you mean its the same part no, the number stamped on the side? I dont have eper here but if its got all the same markings and looks the same then it will prob fit, i'd wait for conformation before you go ripping into it.

I'm not sure if it is the same part number, that was part of the question (not really very clearly written, lol).

Going to go out and take the motor out of the Sei anyway and take a look/compare it.

Seicento is a 1.1 Sporting 2000 Reg - Alt PN = 7713141

Punto is a Mk1 1.2 60SX 1998 Reg - Alt PN = theres three that are listed but none match above really

If you've time I'd try it ti's likely only minor differences.
