Stage Pyrotechnics

Hi all,

I need to purchase some medium sized electric ignited maroons. The kind that are used on stage or in large arena displays.

I asked my daughter to find out from college but she's a bit forgetful to say the least, so does anyone have any contacts where I could buy a few of these ?

I need to buy a small amount to start with, to test the compatability so a box of 10 or 12 would be fine, and if they are good I will purchase about a hundred.

General going rate for these is about £3 each.

are you talking about flash pots? that go off like fireworks? im a student studying concert lighting so if i understand what you want i can help you. you can actually make the flash pots but you will find if you want to buy the ignitors you will find it difficult as you need a license for them .

This type of thing. Basically a small electrically charged explosive. Ignore the shroud on the left though. When used on stage they usually use a Pyrotechnic tank to place the explosive in, so it goes off in a safe enviroment. The Maroons are extremely loud for such a small device.

There's a video of some polish guys using similar explosives here, but being very silly so don't copy this at home kids

Nope, not at the moment, but likely sometime in the near future.

you can actually make them yourself really easily !!! its cheaper than buying them and its more fun ! all you need is some gunpowder and a baked beans tin

I don't think gunpowder and a bake bean tin will fit down the barrel of a 1/6 scale Tank cannon, and adding the wiring for the electric ignition would be pretty difficult. Also making them myself would not be advisable as an incorrect amount of gunpowder could blow the barrel and even the turret apart.

I'll pass on the homemade bombs though thanks guys I wanna keep my arms for a few more years at least, and I can't afford to blow a four and a half grand tank just for the sake of saving a few pennies

this reminds me of a show I saw years ago

the final act was a naked guy with his balls tucked between his legs, he had a lighted firework clamped between his buttocks and was prancing around the stage singing there's no business like show business

You have to see it....... but I have never laughed so much in my life
