Have changed the exhaust on my car recently so had to undo the handbrake cable on the passenger side... have put it all back on now but when driving it is squeeking like mad... have tryed taking some tension off the handbrake and it's still doing it... probably doing it worse... and there isn't much more i can take off- anyone with any ideas what could be causing it??

Best bet i would check that the cable isn't rubbing on anything causing the squeek....if not that i would take wheel off take the hub nut off and drum, clean the shoes with a wire brush and see if that helps could be sticking.... whilst you have it off check your bearings aswell could be on there way out.... if none of the above im at a loss.

Hope you get sorted.

ud be amazed at what it could be, i changed my exhaust, and it suddenly developed a mad knocking noise, obviously i thought id was my exhaust...but it wasnt, it was this:

Might be a stupid idea but did you remove the wheel at all?

If you did make sure your wheel nuts are tightened :)

Sounds silly but can make all the difference

na the wheel bolts were all tight... took my hub of and need some new shoes as they're pretty worn... cleaned it all up in the meantime and it's not doing it anymore

cheers
