General Squeaking idler

Hi All,
My Marea has developed a squeak in the fixed idler wheel (aircon ) can anyone tell me if this is an easy fix?
What is the best way to release tension on the belt tensioner so I can replace the squeaking idler?

get a spanner on the tensioner's nut and rotate it to release tension. definately replace the noisey idler asap. a scrapyard part will do if you can find one with a good condition bearing. clean it with alcohol then grease it before fitting.
