General Splutter comes out of Hibernation!

Never ever say die when it comes to splutter

one of his previous owners used to go ten pin bowling with him (think fiat panda and some wheely bins) and he was welded end to end to get him thou the 2006 mot and then I had to buy him back from some students that where going to drive him to Mongolia!

He's the little panda that should of been made into bean tins years ago so he's not going to let a simple MOT get in his way!(y)

(and start humming the dam busters again here....)

damn you, I'm trying to feel sympathetic and yet hopeful but in a wierd twist of my brain I'm now too busy humming ghost busters!

more sympathetically though, don't ever give up on a good shell, you can fix anything else eventually. Anyway you never know, when I rolled mine out of the garage after two years laid up I fixed the obvious stuff and stuck it in for the MOT just to see what else needed doing and they just passed it! couldn't believe my luck. MOT is just 'is it safe, is it legal?' whereas dealers are more 'what could it do with, what will need doing soon?'
good luck.(y)

Thanks guys,

It's just cause I'm going to be doing a lot of work on sylvia over the next few months that the cost of restoring splutter as well was going to maybe hurt more than I could stand.

But.....

I got this a few months ago for virtually nothing and the engine is sweet so a local mechanic is going to rip out the 1108cc engine and put it in splutter and then fit the electric pump, regulator and the local motorsports guy will then set the carb

Should be no more than 250 quid he says (if I get the pump and regulator)

Splutter ain't going to splutter much no more, hehe

GO JIM BOY !:woot:

I'm sitting here feeling gutted, It looks like the end of the road for poor splutter

WHAT

Now thats no attitude to have is it now Jim!

As mentioned by others, it's not all that much really, and you can always remember that fact that our 1000CL has had £700+ spent on it, keeping it on the road in the few years that we've had it

Jim mate see what Splutter fails on at the mot and we'll take it from there. It should be a lot cheaper to throw a head gasket and a few rubber boots at Splutter.
If I can get this 156 out of my hair I should be able to figure something out.

See what the list is first.

Erm.... after all that in the other thread splutter has one of them H3 or H4 bulbs in the right headlight and its loose so the beam is everywhere

Oh and the fog light woudn't come on

Thats about it really

Jim

Is that all? Thats a cause for celebration surly? Fog shouldn't be that hard to fix, and as for the bulb

Jon.
