My 750L panda been laid up for the last few months in my dad's garage hiding and as the MOT is due on Monday I went round tonight and tried a little gentle encouragement to get him going....

Anyway....

Oh the praties they grow small,
And we dig them in the fall,
And we eats them,
Skins an' all
Over here....

lol :p

So how many NI Panda's in total are there on the forum jim

well, I've 4 (2 on the road and 2 panda shaped things on life support in the drive) and stu has 2 and steve has 1 and then there the new silver one from L7kvv (I don't know his name, maybe he's shy cause he thinks I'll want to come round and camp out on his door step or something freaky)

that gives us a total of 8 but only 6 road worthy ones

The verdict is in from the fiat dealers

blown head gasket, split gaters, worn steering rack, worn suspension.....

I'm sitting here feeling gutted, It looks like the end of the road for poor splutter

Well, I've paid my bill for the inspection (they ran out of space on one service sheet and had to start a second) and I've come to the M&S cafe round the corner from the FIAT dealers and I'm drowning my sorrows in my Mocha latte with hot buttered crumpet and jam (look, the devil is in the detail, lol)

I keep looking out the window at splutter (see pic) and it just reminds me of that time we had to put the dog down and he had the same look on his face that splutter has right now that he kinda knows whats happening....

If any one has anything encouraging to say now would be the time :(

Thanks dave, I know the NI panda god is good but stu is up to his eyes at the minute with trying to get the 1981 panda on the road for the new year and i can't afford to pay a garage. Alan wants to put the Barchetta into my dad's garage and I don't want to park splutter on the grass at my house cause the one thing that Mervyn Stewarts said was fine was that all the welding that stu did ages ago was really top quality and splutter was as strong as the day he came out of the factory....

I'm going to put him in for the MOT on Monday anyway cause garages do tend to over estimate what is needed (even really nice garages like Mervyn Stewarts cause they compare it to the 'as new' spec) and work out want needs done from there.

I'm thinking of an engine swap from 1108cc Cinq that is going no where in the back yard.... Means electric fuel pumps and a re tuned carb but it might be better than fiddling around with the head gasket. I imagine that it's due to overheating cause splutter's fan is very tempremental and steve often had to drive along slamming the passenger door to get it to operate. The guys that bought if off him probably didn't realise that and have cooked the 750 engine in traffic:(
