I am currently converting a 1979 spider 2000 to 1985 rack and pinion steering setup. I have the rack, tie rod ends and all the necessary components except the RH and LH steering arms that are part of the stub axle assembly. On the 85 model the tie rod end ball joint fitting fits into taper hole in the steering arm from the top not the bottom as in the standard earlier models.
What I need to know before I source the late model steering arms are they the same dimensions where they bolt onto the stub axle.
