My Punto (Hatchback YOM 2000) seems not to have all electronics tuned up as they should and my mechanic seems to have had a hard time trying to replace them.

I am not sure whether you can help me find suitable replacement parts and a servicing expert to guide us on this issue, since there is also the legal responsibility on the owner to ensure that the vehicle is roadworthy.

Hello , and welcome, :)

quite an unusual car there if its a Mk1 built in 2000,
most were finished at '99,
which model specifically? , as different engines + trims used different technology,

parts shouldn't be too big an issue,
and there are LOTS of knowledgable people on the different Punto section here,
out of interest - where are you located?,
may help recommending a Fiat / Alfa specialist,(y)

Think you will have a mk2, i will move thread if you confirm what model you have exactly...

speedo system is very similar though...

There should be a speedo sender on top of the gearbox, usually that will be either faulty electronics wise, or mechanically - the bit underneath that spins which the sender turns into a signal can break, quite simple to replace.
