Neither is worth getting from a scrappy. Shocks and rear gearbox mounts wear out: the life of either is generally less than 50,000 miles, so you're unlikely to find good ones.

Fluffy the Impaler (PM him on Club Cento) has the rear mounts in, other avenues are Shop4Parts and your FIAT dealer.

Neither job is difficult DIY: there's a guide to doing the shocks here.

You can get some KYB gas shock made to OEM standard for about 30 quid each .... That price is way way way too much, unless is from fiat .

I think the fronts are a bit more than that, but KYB or Munroe gas shocks are a good choice. Probably better than the originals.

Could it be their price included fitting?

hello again i went to my local car garage and he had a llok for me, the problem is my 2 front shokers have seezed so i need 2 new ones and also i need a rear gear box mount, they gaveme a price for my shockers it would be £164.50 inc vat they carnt give me a price for my gear box mount because they crnt find one any where and have told me to go to the scrappy for one, is that price reasonable or should i pay £40 for 2 at the scrappy:confused:

I paid 11 quid plus fitting for a new gearbox mount. You be able to tell if its shot as setting off will seem like the car is struggling and it will make odd noises going up the revs.

Cheers,
MiG
