Whilst on about fast cars, I was reading an article about how to soup up your cars, and it made me wonder, just how did we come up with the term "soup up"?

the word used when the police really have no clue what speed you were doing.

How did they arrive at that figure?

I doubt they tailed him in a police car with a calibrated speedo.

About Speed record you hear about the guy down near me got caught doing 172MPH in a customers car?
I know the road that he was on an it is horrible must've been really trying some to get that speed up Esp during the day.
