speakers help

i have a 1000watt sub and a 1800watt amp
i know i need a 4 gauge wireing kit and the headunit has a per out
will the amp be alright for the sub or is the amp to powerful?
oh the sub is a jbl cs 1000watt and the amp some foren crap lol

wrong section for a start but im sure a mod will move it

you say 1000watt and 1800 watt but is that peak or RMS im assuming peak, either way if the amp is sending a clean signal and its not clipping then the sub will be just fine, its distortion that kills speakers, set your gain and levels right and it should be okay
