hi guys,

my uno is giving me some ignition problem's its an 1.0 i.e.s fire from 82. simptoms are it simply starts bogging and then puff wont start first time it happened i opened the distribuitor and cleaned a contact that connects the plate holding the induction sensor to the case, (worked for a while) second time i changed the ignition module (worked for a while) now it wont start again... is it possible that the coil is partialy burned and burns the module? what is the indutance and resistance of a new coil?

thanks

A 1982 1.0 i.e. S? The Uno wasn't released until 1983 and the 1.0 i.e. models weren't available until 1992/3! I think you must mean 1992? ;)

In my experience the coils rarely fail on Unos. Not impossible but I suspect that your problem is more down to the low tension side of the ignition or possible fuel problems.

Do some basic checks - spark plug colour? Fuel getting through? Spark present at the plugs? By a process of elimination you should narrow down the possible faults.

Let us know how you get on. (y)

yes its from 92 sorry, hard to believe the car is younger than me :D

i compared the coil with other i had and they both draw about 8 amps at 12V so i guess coil is fine...
i cleaned the filter on the fuel pump 3 days ago, the one near the engine can´t be as bad to not even let the car start... plugs are carbon fouled weak spark can cause that...
the thing that puzzle's me it that when i replaced the ignition module i trashed the engine and it was fine it would not bog at full throtle or anything so unless its some kind of intermitent ECU problem (?) gasoline is going into the engine... but if i replaced the module and now its burned again something is causing that... i'll do some more testing tomorow...
how should the injector spray look like? is it continuos? or in even spaces?
