Just wondering what is the best system to replace the 5 cd changer and headunit. Think my cd changer is pretty ****ed and want a better stereo anyway with ipod etc.. Is there anything good that you can change the head unit with?/ does the head unit come out? and also what about the cd changer? sorry for it being a pretty general and newbie question ha

Thanks for showing me the adaptor too though thats what i was lookin for!

I think the cd changer only works with original HU. You can take it out and have a storage place, a place to put your ipod etc, you could run the adaptor cable down behind to keep things nice & tidy...

Im nearly sure the storage part on a mk1/2 skoda octavia was removable & the same size as a standard HU so could stick that in there instead of cd changer that you cant use

Ah yeah nice one man sounds good think that'll be me next buy so!

oh yeah by the way whats the focus induction kit like is it any use?

unless you wanner spend big bucks then its your best option

Cool.
So if you wern't going for the gsr what would be the next best option? K and N,Focus, pipercross or somethin else??

probably focus, k&n physically and mechanically is just wrong and wont do anything for performance

dont know much about the pipercross one

your never gonna get massive gains from an induction kit anyway

Save your money until you can find and afford a gsr, you won't regret it, there are proven bhp and torque gains and evidence to back it up. The GSR on my 1.2 8v grande makes a huge difference and the rr graph shows almost a 10% power increase and it brings the torque lower down the rev range. Hence the price, but its worth it.

Anyway, this is an ICE section right? Your HU is up to you, try www.caraudiosecurity.com for starters, they lay out the specifications quite nicely.

You mention you want iPod connectivity, so your CD changer will be used very rarely, whip it out, make some storage space and flog it on eBay, if you get £20 - £30 its money towards your HU budget right?
