Yep, as the new year hits us, my Cinq Sporting is SORN! I hate this damn government, tax and tolls, hardly seems fair.

Another day...another problem...

Its gonna be SORN until February... then with a bit of luck, give it 6 months tax and use it until July, and then trade it for another car :)

Focus 3 door in graphite grey or mazda 323F (95-98 model). Always loved the mazda, so i'm leaning towards that over the focus now, and at around £5k, cheap as chips! Should get a £500 trade in for the Cinq....

Statutory Off Road Notification. If you don't fill one of these stupid forms in when your road tax runs out you get a letter telling you they are taking you to court for a £1000 fine.[:(!][:(!][:(!]
Just make sure you are really careful when you get rid of your car that the V5 is completed correctly otherwise you get the £1000 letter cos someone else haven't paid their road tax.[:(!][:(!][:(!]

So much to do, so little time.... and Totally Skint!! :(

The law has changed recently. DVLA does a monthly db search, any vehicles not taxed or SORN are liable for an £80 fine, rising to £1000 and up to £5000 or 2 years if on the road. You can SORN by calling 0870 240 0010. You cannot transfer SORN.
V5's are even worse. You can't get your tax without one, if you don't fill it in properly you get someone elses fine, when you explain that you don't own the car you get done for not filling in the V5.

Yep, I SORN my Scirocco from late August through to late April / May.
Just in time for our first BIG show of the year. GTI International at Bentwaters, Nr Ipswich :D
Can't wait.

So I can just about get away with the 6 months tax, then I put it on laid up insurance.

Have you seen the size of the new V5 (the V5c)
finally got it through after 3 months of waiting, from buyin the car
it looks like a log BOOK now.

whos is the little red fiat?

fixit you will never stop these guys,dodgy/fake mot's,false insurance docs and unregistered cars.its the guy who's car is busted and is waiting for pay day to fix it and wham a fine comes through the door and his cars of the road for another month.im all for making people having road worthy cars with insurance but i feel its the road legal guys wno bear the brunt,i dont know about you guys but i'll put my hands up to have driven without tax a couple of times when money was tight but not without MOT/insurance

The Fiat Cinquecento

I'm driving to the MOT station tomorrow with no tax, which i cant get until i have an MOT, which i can't get unless i drive to the test centre, which i *shouldn't* do with no tax, as then i'll have no insurance, which wont be valid unless a have tax which.....

See my point? :D
