I have a 2020 Fiat Ducato 2.3 EML light on with these fault codes P1206 & P24A4 check soot level 81.56% and 14mbar on DPF sensor. Are these readings within tolerance.
Soot level (particle filter clogging) on my 2.3 operates between 8% immediately after a regeneration to 100% (very occasionally 101 or 102) at which a regen is triggered, so 81.56% would be fine.
The differential pressure varies with revs+load but if you mean at tickover at 82% clogged then I'd say that 14mbar is in the ball park.
If you're a Android user then I can thoroughly recommend DPF monitor from the Play Store for keeping an eye of DPF parameters.
In this guide are typical graphs/ values to find, also a guide as to what values (mbar) might mean
<20 Brilliant DPF causing almost no restriction
20-99 Good result and typical of a DPF in good working order
100-250 DPF causing up to 0.25 BAR of pressure – needs investigation
250-500 Serious restriction probably not allowing car to do a Forced Regen
500-1000 Performance loss very marked at this level
>1000 Car can’t pull the proverbial skin off a rice pudding. All your boost is stuck in the DPF
How to diagnose a problem the DPF Differential Pressure sensor and its impact on the DPF. known in mes parameter list as Differential Pressure Sensor. These sensors are prone to any debris or condensation in the exhaust, which can cause the...
