I was having tons of issues. It kept throwing up p2085 codes. I replaced the exhaust temp sensor and then kept throwing up p2084 so again I replaced the other exhaust temp sensor. Then it kept throwing up p2084 when starting it from cold and also the odd p2002 (blocked dpf) and constantly trying to regen EVERY DAY ALL DAY even when engine was just started. Today I had the egr and dpf deleted and coded out of the ecu. Now I have the following issues..

1: Odometer is flashing constabtly
2: Constant dash warning saying dpf regen keep engine running
3: Engine won’t turn off now by the key. I have to stall it to get the engine to stop (did turn off when I picked it up but now won’t)

Place that did the above swears that the egr and dpf have “100% been deleted physically and on the ecu”. I have seen pics of the dpf hollowed out and the egr looks like it’s been taken off and put back on so I believe them.

Any ideas? Really at the end of my patience with it.

Hi Matt, I have no idea, except to encourage you to restore the vehicle back to how it was designed to operate. There is a very good reason the anti-pollution gear is fitted, specially to diesel engines. The pollution it prevents actually saves human life. That is why the practice of what you have done is illegal. Have you considered the affect on the people you observe in your rear view mirror? Perhaps you should consider the services of a reputable FIAT specialist to fix your problem.

Sounds to me like the place that did the delete have done something wrong, whether they need fiat specific MES software to stop the dash flashing which they haven’t got I don’t know. At the end of the day if the DPF isn’t there now and it’s all been correctly deleted it should run better due to it being unrestricted. My guess is you need MES software to finish the job off. Sounds like you’ve done the hard work! Dpf’s, clean as they may be are better off in the bin in practical terms (other than environmental reasons obviously) 🤣

Yeah I wonder if MES can change the soot value to zero so it doesn’t flash up the dpf regen thing?

Mes can reset the system to a new dpf but this will also reset the regens and do a forced regen. read the notes.

Yeah i thought the same but have no idea on how to do that. Definitely no other way in MES to change the soot count or something? Or a way to "format" the ecu back to stock settings/parameters so its like when it was new and would think the dpf is empty?

Use the highlighted function to add a new dpf post#6
