hi there i am planning on installing this unit into my mk1 fiat punto but there are no screws in the box to keep it from being thieved (which happened before).

does anyone know what screws are used and where i could get them form

thanks in advance
Jon

Do you have the official sony headunit metal enclosure/casing thing. then the only way it can be thieved is if the thieves have the sony removal tools. i have another model of sony and there is one small screw to keep the front display bit on the headunit but i dunno where youcan get that screw. if you don't have the sony metal casing then ebay is a good option

i have the original case but no screws, it only offer them metal bits which you bend down in order to secure it a bit.

hopefully they'll work.

ya i have the same setup, just bend loads of them , when the headunit slides in it tightens everything up. beating that, get an alarm!!!:D

I dont see how you plan to screw a HU in i have never seen that lol. TBH if somebody wants to get the Unit out they will. You dont even need the keys to get them out i can get most HU's out using a Biro lid.
I have seen many things to stop thievs but at the end of the day its a unit which is designed to slide in and out, there is nothing that anybody can do to stop that possibility short of sticking it in with lots of very strong resin.
