well....just to have something to say since it's been so quiet around here....

I just got my Giardiniera out of the shop. The Italian body shop replaced my side windows, small triangle shaped window vents, metal trim, windshield gasket (the windshield I bought was the wrong one) and added a rubber gasket under the metal band that holds the rag top onto the roof of the car in the rear.

I'm leaving for the States for a few weeks and I'm having the motor rebuilt while I'm away. Also, a rusted out hole at the passengers side feet is being replaced. Then, the interior is getting sprayed with a plastic protective coating.

It's our only car for the next couple months until we move back home so I need to get all this stuff fixed before I get Stateside and nobody knows how to work on my car!

Hey, thanks for helping to break the deafening silence roud here!

I'm confused though..... Italian body shop and off to the states....

I'm just curious..... where is home ?

Well, "home" right now is Sicily. Originally from San Diego, California. I'm living in Sicily with my family until January. We've been here about 3 years. I just bought the Fiat in October and I'm trying to get as much fixed on the car before we move to Maryland in January. I'm not sure, but I imagine it will be difficult to find someone who can work on the car. Also, I've made several contacts at local auto parts stores here that stock Fiat 500 parts so I can place orders later from the States if needed. I leave this weekend for the States. I'll be gone a few weeks and I'm leaving the care with a mechanic & body shop nearby to have the motor rebuilt and some bodywork done.
