just bought a new auxilary pulley and tensioner , replaced pulley no problem , but being slightly heavy handed ivr managed to snap the bolt that holds the tensioner in place !!! , any suggestions or is it going to be an expensive mistake??. :(

Did it break flush with the engine, or is there enough still protruding to get mole grips or a stud extractor onto?

Why did it break?
If you were being clumsy, or turned it the wrong way, then if anything is still sticking out, it may be removable.
If it broke because it was seized, then only way is to drill it out. Due to its location, that may mean an engine out job. It needs to be drilled accurately in its centre, smaller diameter than the thread, so that it can be extracted as bits and not damage the thread. This is not a good application for a helicoil due to the sideways stresses.

Good luck.

it was a new bolt that broke due to me being heavy handed and putting half a turn to much on the torque wrench , unfortunately its broke below the surface so nothing to grip onto . going to the garage at the weekend hopefully he can get enough space to drill it with wheel off etc... otherwise as you say engine out job :( . hopefully with it being a clean bolt and rust free should come out ok .. fingers crossed .
