Hi All, just joined up after buying a Cinq. Sporting, 8 years on from selling my first one.

It's a bit tatty around the edges, but it was cheap and I am working towards turning it into a half decent track day car. (My Alfa 75 is getting far too rare and valuable to use on the track these days - not to mention impossible to repair if I do prang it, due to lack of parts).

Anyway, my Cinq. has the 'new' Seicento style steering wheel and stalks. I absolutely hate the wheel, and really want to swap back to the original style 2-spoke leather wheel from earlier Sportings.

Is this just a straight swap?

I'm also looking at a suspension drop - don't want to spend too much - so was considering a Bilstein G12 'Streetline' kit, or a Gmax kit, which are both around the same price.

In terms of exhausts, I think I'll probably go with a custom-made 'Longlife' back box, adding a centre section when the flexi-pipe gives way.

Any opinions on the above?

Finally..... Superchips. I have one, but it's not fitted. Opinion appears to be split on them, but surely it's worth trying, especially with a new exhaust and (properly mounted in the air-flow) cold air induction kit?
 
gmax are supposedly a harsh ride without any give. is its a trackday car id expect a tiny bit of body role would actually help the tyres??

superchips work and if you have one for the cinq might aswell try it. alot of people run the McRich chip though.

exhuast wise a full sytem in stainless would cost you about 220 if thats in your budget id give that a look at, if not mabee a off the shelf supersprint or janspeed back box?

oh and my sei has a two spoke leather wheel? does yours look like a rugby ball and have a air bag? if so removing the airbag woud be the hardest part but as fasr as i know the boss is the same???

Yes, it's the 'rugby ball' type wheel - but no airbag (well, no light on the dash, and nothing to say it's an airbag on the steering wheel) - sounds like I can swap it for the earlier type steering wheel.

Would love to go straight to a full exhaust system, but that would double the cost - looking at the price of Janspeeds - where can you get a full system from for £220?

My last Cinq. had -48mm PI springs on new OEM shocks.... that was very stiff, especially with the Sparco brace!

Don't want to go with Ashley as there's a risk of not passing noise testing at some tracks.
 
Yup yup str swap for the steering wheel!.

As for superchip, think they are exactly the same as mckritch, think this reported by gazzerman.

As for suspensions take a look at FK from this site is around £230 ish:

Might want to think about some cambers bolt is only £16 quid ish (cinq ones is the same as clip mk1)

That's is what am hopping for my cinq anyway :).

Right, I've been looking at ePer - it appears to think my car has an airbag.

But I was convinced the steering wheels with airbags had 'airbag' moulded into the centre pad.

Anyone know before I blow my hands off?

Disconnect the battery, hold the two leads together for a minute or so, then continue. Even if it has an airbag, it won't go off.

i have the Fk's from venom and id warn you that it took me a week to get the suspension but its took over three for my bushes, i phoned them today as i finally got a box of them and its a vauxhall astra strut brace (FUMING) now i need to wait another 14working days with my car having no suspension because i refuse to do the job twice.

but the shocks and springs arrived fine :p.

my rugby ball wheel has airbag written on it.

MIJ birmingham priced a cat back stainless for 220. as i already had a 4-2-1 manifold. (sorry if i came across as it sounded like mani was included)
