General So what are bravos like??

No chance! Next car has to be particularly cheap to run, and preferably super reliable. Desirable candidates include:
Smart Roadster (cheap to run, but not so reliable)
Merc A-class diesel (cheap to run)
Alfa GT Coupe diesel
Seat Ibiza FR TD
Lotus Elise/Vauxhall VX 220 (Cheap on fuel, but not to insure)
Ferrari 456 (Keep on dreaming... )

Look! No Bravos in that list, and only one Fiat

Paul, the new Alfas are as reliable as any other car. It's the dealers that lets them down in the surveys. If you find a good dealer you're laughing... I always regret selling my Alfa Sprint.

Although he did say he liked the multipla, how can anyone like the multipla and not the bravo/a is beyond me, not knocking the multipla but bravo/as are sooo much better looking

great, thanks for input guys (and gals), seen two bravo's now, one a 1.6 SX the other a HGT (which wouldn't start on demand, so vitoe'd that one). I like the space, and it seems to be a stiffer car.
