Hi all,

I thought I'd already made this post but couldn't find it anywhere, so I'm sorry if I'm repeating.

Anyway, i decided to take my Brava out for a post-snow spin and managed to break my windscreen wipers in the process - I think the weight of the snow had something to do with it.

Anyway, I have no response from the front wipers or washers - no sign of life at all.

The back wiper is working fine so it isn't / shouldn't be a fuse problem.

So I was hoping to get advice on what it could be - a broken wiper motor or (hopefully) something less serious.

And having just checked prices for a replacement, I was hoping to buy the motor and link and then fit it myself.

On a scale of 1-10, is this a tough job for a novice???

Any tips or words of wisdom would be great.

Thanks in advance...

I would still say a fuse or other electrical gremlin....if it was a motor broken then the washers should still work being a different motor and circuit.

Fuse for the Wipers (F&R) and the washers is fuse 10 (second row down, last fuse to the right). What about the relay for the wipers (if there is one in your car)

The handbook and fuse flap show that the front and rear wipers and washers run on the same fuse - I've tried taking this out and this makes the rears stop working - so the fuse seems ok.

Am I wrong??

Pinched from Joske in another thread (thanks!):

"Sounds like the intermittent relay has gone, its found on the actual wiper motor itself. You will need to remove the scuttle panel to gain access."

So it looks like there is a relay, might wanna check this out first

Cheers for the advice - now I've just gotta work out how to do it!!

Time to Google myself a how-to guide!!
