As title really snapped my spare key in my boot this morning :( just wondering is there anyway i can get a replacement key without having to take it down the dealers n getting the ecu re-programmed and new keys cut and programmed as i dont have a red key!! Also, how much would it cost if i have to take it down for re-programming?

Kris

Hopefully not as the only way to reprogram the ECU is with the Red Key.

you might be able to swap out all the barrels and ecu with one from a scrappy, i'm not sure whether that is cheaper or not, just a thought though.

IF you have a spare key, go to a key cutter with ur red key and have it programmed and a new key cut. costs about £25

if this is your only key, get on ebay and buy a blank key, have this key cut from your lock or the snaped off part if you can get it out? and then change all the gubbins from the broken key into the "new" key, job done :)

Marea, why settle for less

You say spare key so presumably you have another one, Just a matter of getting the broken one out and having another one coppied from your remaining key. Any locksmith will cut a copy and remove the broken bit in less than 20 seconds. Cost about £25

i have no red key... just another blue one, so does that mean just to open the doors and boot i dont need the key programmed to the ecu??

Snapped Key

Well aint rang them yet because im at uni all week in newcastle but at the weekend when am back in hartlepool gna give them a bell n sort it out 4 them to come saturday... all i can say is that im glad the Bravo has got a lever next to the drivers seat to open the boot!! Will post up and let you know how i get on :)

Well it would be a lot cheaper for you if you could take the lock off to take to them. call out charges are expensive

the boot lock isn't too hard to get out mate. And cloning your blue key only costs £25 at Timpsons. Its always a good idea to have 2 blue keys! ESPECIALLY if you have no red key.
