"Smoked" side repeaters

I just gave 20 of your good english pounds to fastfiat.com on the promise of a set of "smoked" side repeaters. Got them today, absolutely disgusted!!! They are not smoked in the slightest, the lense is completely clear! They just have a black background. Talk about misleading advertising. I'm well disappointed with em! They're not even made very well, cos of the clear lense you can see the black background which has huge marks on it where the ejector pins have been, looks well tacky! I'm gunna see what they look like on the car, if black looks ok i will tint the lense, otherwise they are deffinately going back! (sorry for the rant)

Whats anyone else done???

I got the green ones from fast fiat cos i got a lichen green brava. i have to admit they look very cheap and nasty. i know some people on this forum said they tint sprayed them and looked better. i have also seen Ian Ge-force's red bravo. he just sprayed the original indicators red - they looked really good, and the light still cam ethrough orange (just!!).

Bad news mate!! I would send them back if I was you, I have heard alot of people say they are not upto scratch.

Does anyone know where you can can good quality ones from. I have seen some in demon tweeks for just under 20 notes. Anyone any comments on these?

I got some clear ones from Fast Fiat and I was disgusted with those too, sent them back.

I wanted some like those on the Astra/Corsa. However on a recent post a guy from Denmark had really nice smoked ones on his Brava (below). He said they were original Fiat part 46226681, but my local dealers here in Essex have never heard of the part or that Fiat sell styled repeaters.

I bought the same lenses, they look fine on the car.

To be fair they are tinted in exactly the same way your rear and front lights are tinted, clear glass with a black background

Re: Re: "Smoked" side repeaters

Tinted to me means the lense has a transparant grey/black coating. I still say they are Black! I have put them on and i will take a photo tonight. They look ok on but i might still tint over the lense a little. Mine is also the litchen green and i think they work quite well! They are still really shoddy quality though and don't fit that well

I will put a pic later for all to see!!!

side reps

i got some chrome backed ones that look really good from

www.dierectcarparts.co.uk
or
http://www.dcp-shop.co.uk/catalog/

(which is the same site updated)

hope that helps, the other repeaters are much better quality than fastfiat too,

The kind fella is sending them to me as his Bravo has now gone

TY Briggsy!

Re: Re: Re: side reps

I've got the HGT and can't get any other side repeaters other than clear so my bloke just used tinting spray on them and they look great.

paint

i just painted over mine, and i think they look good enough!

Re: paint

same colour as your car? I was thinking of that. Does enough light get through?

Re: Re: paint

Well they don't look as bad as i thought they would!

Think i will just put enought tint on to take the shine off the lense and they will do! I think i prefer it to orange or silver on this colour anyway. What so you lot think?

Here is a scan of the original Fiat Brava "Lineaccessori" catalog:

So there's no doubt about that Fiat did sell those smoked side-repeaters :)

(The catalog is in german - I think the danish Fiat import never made a
translated catalog...)

Same as car

yeah, i just did them the same colour as the car, then rubbed em down woth T cut till enough light came through.

had em on 6 months or so? never had any hassle with them.
