Hi,

The fuel smells in the Cinque are beginning to get bothersome.
It is most bareable with all windows shut and the blower on full.
There are no obvious leaks and the tank had been replaced in 2003 or so.
What are the obvious candidates to cause fuel smells in the car?
Is it save to drive it to a garage or is that begging to be ripped off?

Have you had fuel smelly problems on a Cinque before?
How did you solve it?

Has anyone ever switched to Mini after a CInque?

CHeers,
Bandito.

Fuel filter (under the car) or the canister by the passenger side headlight end of the under bonnet area.

It will be one or the other, otherwise the leak would have be obvious by now.

I get that petrol smell too...only with windows open -and far more noticeable when engine (and cat) cold.I assumed it was my rotten back box/pipe.
Mini?New or old type?

have a look at the fuel flap on the drivers side of the car after a few left handers :D

I think you will find the problem , as for a cure ????? some leak and some dont .

I'm on my 3rd fuel cap n seal and 2nd fuel tank but still have a stripe going down the side of my car from the fuel spillage.

No cure as far as i know ,but I live in hope.
Only 6 months to go and the get shot of the cinq ... i may donate it to science so they can find the problem :D
