Hi all, I'm not normally in this area, but need some help. My friend has a 03 Seicento and was driving past a building site the other day when the rear window just smashed.

She thinks it was a bit of shrapnel from the site, but I said I'd ask on her to see if any of you have had rear window just smash incase its happened before. She was doing about 40 MPH.

Thanks in advanced. Jon.

Never heard of a random case of just breaking all of a sudden, would likely go with the shrapnel idea

would like to add your friend has been extremely unlucky also chances of it occuring, well i wouldnt like to wonder what the odds are :)

The front windscreen is bonded in, dont know about the rear is it an insurance job?

Rear is bonded.

Some P***ks took out my rear and side rear and tried with the passanger window also but it didn't break and left the brick mark on it. The fitter tried twice to fit the rear and it still aint right.

I can't understand why people don't go fully comp, I am even on my K-reg Panda! And I to am a 19YO. lol.

no point unless your car is worth a few thousand pounds IMO

your insurance is probably worth more than car and they would just write it off if the bumper was only broken and a couple of scratches

Think he meant her insurance was £400. The car cost £1800 ;)

No, the new rear window cost £400!

But there are several advantages of fully comp, like injury claims if your fault, free windscreen chips (which I seem to be always getting), cover car, and you get a little back when written off.
