Technical Sluggish when starting

Hi there,
I have a 2007, 2.3 multijet Fiat Ducato Motorhome, when turning the key to start, the engine is very sluggish and slow at starting, maybe turning over 5-6 times before firing into life, the glow plug light comes on prior to starting and doesn't appear again once engine is running, the battery is only 3 months old with little use.

Hi,

The engine block earth strap is a known cause of problems, with the x250, and x290 models. This can be checked by connecting a jump lead between an engine lifting lug, and a clean chassis earth point. Also worth looking at the battery earth/negative connection under the cab floor.

Thank you for your suggestion and advice, I've checked the strap and it seems ok, have a friend auto sparky checking it out so hopefully nothing too major.
