Is it such a big job to change the cam belt in a 145 cloverleaf as it is in an HGT? I'd imagine it's not as bad but i don't know.
 
I wouldn't have thought so. The problem with the HGT is the physical size of the 5 cylinder lump. It makes it impossible to get the cambelt cover off without moving the engine to the side. Fiat dealerships do the change by taking the whole lump out of the engine bay, the cheaper option is to loosen the engine mounts and sorta slide it over a bit to get the cover off (I think this is what they do).
The cloverleaf should be easier to change as there is more room in the engine bay.
