Hi everybody

I have come across a Spanish initiative / charity adventure based on the Panda to deliver school books and materials to children in the North of Africa.
Full details can be found on their official website:
www.pandaraid.com

And some nice clips here:

I don't understand Spanish in full but as far as I could understand one can subscribe as a 2 wheel drive or a 4 wheel drive and there are mods allowed to go across the North of Africa (Morocco). There seems to be an award for those that are most creative with their cars.

They also provide tips of where to find Pandas for sale - in particular in inner rural part of Spain, where the Pandas and then the Marbellas (from Seat) where the workhorse of Spain.

I wish I had the time and the means to do this...

I hope you enjoy this finding (maybe you know already!).

Cheers

yes, I very much want to do this! Just got to sum up the courage, what an epic trip it would be!!

heh if i did this i would deffo import the aircon parts from japan!

I'd love aircon in Fizzle, it's one option I have to have in my main vehicle, not just for cooling but demisting too.

I missed it so much I had it retrofitted into my Yaris for about £600. I used it for work and was spending all day in and out of the car so I really got my moneys worth :)

If you ever get the urge John import two sets and you can do Fizzle for me too (y)

you know you can get electric ones from Chinese whole sale website now days
they come up as "tent aircon units" and run from 12v.. proper compressor driven too at about 8000 BTU!

something i was looking into. maybe one day i'll get one.

yeah in japan some mk2 pandas had aircon under the pass dash fabric.
there was a picture of one somewhere... hmm
