hi does any one have any simple tweeks i can do u tune up my engine on a 1.6 bravo or how to tune my engine after decating my car
 
firstly.

most important, make sure your car is in A1 condition/well serviced etc.
You'll see a big difference just by having a well running car.

secondly, ditch the standard panel filter and go for an aftermarket one. stay away from open cone filters as they do more bad than good. if you can afford it go for a closed type induction kit like a bmc.

if you want to go more extreme then cams are available, as is a remap, headwork etc. Ash_G modded his 1.6 up to 1.8 power.
its all down to whether you think its worth the money or not.

hey cheers iv got an bolt on air filter on it at the moment sound great works really well put a new big back box on but i think my cats on it way out its sounds loud under neath where the cat is and its loss loads of power it runs flat at 4 and half tho revs til 6 and then tops out at 6 iv had it at 7 and a half tho once so i know it got that far what would u say it may be can u help me please cheers moje
 
there are lots of tweaks that only add a little power but can mount up
e.g. carbon fibre bonnet or keying your spark plugs

As Dan said Ash is pushing 125 ish bhp in his 1.6 (or was until we had to put the new engine in) he had head work, chip, supersprint manifold and powerflo system and a few other goodies to make it like that, and it did shift! with the new engine theres no head work but the rest stands and it still pulls rather well i must admit

do u have to do anything the the engine if u de cat the exhaust like the timing i got told ull have to retune it is this true
 
Keying your spark plugs is where you fit your spark plugs in such a way that the grounding strap on the bottom of the spark plug is away from the incoming fuel-air charge, so that the spark is not shielded from the fuel-air charge.

You can buy washers to raise the level of your sparkplugs fractionally so that the spark is in teh right place.

nope nothing needs to be done when decatting, just getting it thro its mot will be a pain as its a legal requirement, this can be got around quite easily mind...

get a cat from the scrappers and either open it up or smash out the internals, get a pipe welded inside and done, it looks like a cat but is a decat ;)

it should only fail the emissions if its ropey to start with

hey guys us are great thanks for ur help it been good i shall decat my car tomoz and where would i get these washers from to lift my plug up
 
um any unipart i would think
