Technical Simple question to experts

Hello, my name is Diego.

I have in my garage a 1.6i engine and transmission from a 2005 Fiat Stilo 5doors. I would like to know whether this configuration can be mounted in another chassis other than a stilo.

I own a golf MKII, but its time for a change but the crisis is hitting me hard...too hard i guess, so my father gave me this engine to have a little fun, since i have the knowledge and place to throw it in a chassis... the problem here in belgium is there are NO fiat (stilo) chassis available...

So... what can i buy to put this motor into please help? Im seriously gonna give back to the community by taking pictures of the work once i find the chassis.

you can put anything into anything it just depends how much work you want to do.

do you mean what chassis will it bolt straight into?

Yes, precisely... could i replace the block of an alfa 156 with this 1.6 for example?

you are better off putting it in a punto or old bravo. Unless you have a 156 with a blown engine you will be taking out a better engine to replace with a lower power one.

yes, thats actually the point. finding a car at low cost with a broken engine or transmission so I can bolt THIS engine right on. Thanks thats a pretty useful reply... Im gonna look for a cheap 156 chassis with a blown motor and Im gonna fit this 1.6 that I have.

I would look for a Fiat with a busted engine first! Like rattystilo said, a Bravo/Brava or Punto mk2 or Marea.... Or Tempra!!! ))

yeah Im looking exactly for such things, Im glad i can use this engine since it has only 29.000km on the clock...

Sorry no updates so far, I cant find a car with distribution problems or stuff like that...
