Hello everyone! I've been reading this forum for a while, but haven't posted anything yet... Well, my question is: what about the Simota Carbon Airbox? It looks more or less like the BMC CDA, and i guess it does the exact same job...
Having read some posts on the forum, I can tell the BMC is preferred to KNs, Pipercross etc., but wot about the Simota?

Thanx in advance...

P.S. THIS is the Simota CDA (here shown on a Mazda MX5)...

I havent heard much about them, i know they are cheaper. Check the insides of the Box, while the BMC CDA is not perfect the simota could be a lot lot worse or possibly a lot better. A lot of those £15 tawianise filters do a better job than the big names.

So, after all, I bought the Simota Carbon Air Box this summer... I have it installed on my baby for about 2 months and these are my comments:

1) GREAT growling sound, i love it! Not too noisy, not too shy... Sometimes terrifying (for pedestrians)!
2) The car seems more "lively" during acceleration, I think there is some power gain... Definitely at high revs the car breathes a lot better (at a certain spot where i would go 170-180 KPH (not miles, i live in Greece) maximum, it now more easily climbs to 190-200...
3) I think i get more MPG now (when i'm not "Blood-Thirsty" and drive smoothly)...

Dont't know how it compares to the BMC, (I could test it, tho, since i have a BMC installed on my Miata... ), but for almost half the price (160euros for the Simota instead of 250 for the BMC), I am absolutely satisfied... Next update when I test the BMC on the Punto...
