misses was hoping to get a few more weeks out of the siencento, even though the head gasket has gone she uses it to get to work, only 5mins away. has to top the water up every other day and has been getting by. Today though it wont even start, get a fart out of the zorst when turning over but thats it. Is there anything to do that can get this running without spending any cash on it. Its goin to the scrappy in a few weeks :( Bodywork is still bang on, shame the engine isnt :(

Sounds bad, is the belt intact?

Cheers

SPD

think so, when you turn the key while in gear it donkey kicks.

its been running bad when it was running @ start up, as if it was only firing on 3 cylinders but after about 30secs it sounded fine but now wont fire up at all :(

could the spark plugs be knacked? what size long reach socket will fit?

where abouts are you? its a shame to send it to the scrappys if the bodys good, what about sticking it on ebay 99p start?

it was a stock T reg sporting. It had the fixed quater windows but i salvaged the opening type from the scrappy, a few riv nuts later and it now has opening qtr windows, also added abarth side skirts and boot spoiler and color coded door handles. Has shumacher pedals, alloy hand brake and gear surround. resprayed 95% of it 2 years ago (didnt do roof or bulkhead) using water base and clear coat. Its gleamin when its clean. front bumper has a few scraps above the number plate werre the missis scraped a wall, rest of the body panel look pretty good. Have a spare boot lid and rear bumper which i removed when fitting the spoiler (was easier to just take the whole boot rather than cheese wire the spoiler off)

would be an ideal car to but and swap the engine over. If your a mechanic you could have it up and running for next to nothing. :)

I really wouldn't scrap it mate, you can get an engine got £60

there not hard to fit either, you could do it yourself. if you did scrap it, baggie the pedals and hand brake cover :)

i cant be doing with engine changes, to much hassle, im a painter not a mechanic. :(
its done 94k so the clutch will be on its last legs. Its served its purpose :)

Oh, got the sciecento running again. took the spark plugs out, clened em whacked em in the oven for 10 mins then popped em in and it started up fine. Just cleaning em didnt work though. I recommend 150 c for 10 mins :)

hope it last a few more weeks :)
