Technical Sidelights on constantly

I bought a 2006 fiat idea 1.3 multijet. i have noticed that the side lights are alwalys on once the ignition key is turned on.

when i turn the lights cintrol knob on the steering column to sidelights - nothing changes and headlights work fine.

is this a wiring issue or something preset in the computer?

switch fault mate, there was a few posts on this in this section a year or 2 back.

Yeah, this is almost definitley a problem with the switch. The same thing happened to my 04 plate Idea earlier this year. My local dealer said that it's a common fault on Ideas and some Doblos. It's not a cheap fix though, about £180 or thereabouts.

Thanks for this thread, I picked my idea up yesterday & it had the same problem. I just thought it was just trying to be a volvo............anyhow the place where I bought it from is going to sort it. Thanks again.

ideas yes, doblos no because they use a different stratergy for its lights. Doblos lights can switch off for a second but not stay on.
