Technical Should i have an intermittant rear wiper?

ive got another vid on my phone were im out side the car lmfao il post that up in the next 5 minds

here we go did this last night when i left work and was standing in the rain





but as you can see the frount wipers are on and the rear is every 10/15 seconds and there was noone in the car!

It must depend on what model you have, in my owners manual it says

"In some versions, the rear window wiper flicking frequency is related to that of the windscreen wiper"

crazy isn't it, i don't get car manufacturers sometimes, why they would put something so simple in some models and not others. i can understand extras and stuff like heated seats or air-con etc but something like this you'd think it would be standard.
