Should i ditch the 6x9z?

Been reading up on this and it seems the genral feeling is that 6x9 speakers in your parcel shelf are a waste of time, am i correct? Well on that note i have removed them but now have two chanels spare on my amp, what should i replace them with? Components or coaxials? They will be going in custom door cards in the rear doors instead though!

What's wrong with 6x9 in parcel shelf. The Ritmo Abarth is powered with an RF amp, 12" sub and a pair of Infinity 6x9 in a custom build (wood) parcel shelf. This shelf also holds the amp upside down. No overheating problems either, cause it hasn't got ribs as the PG amp in the Uno. All three components are driven by the same amp. Two channels bridged into mono to deliver power to the sub. This works so good I feel insanely drunk when looking in the rearview mirror.

Just get rid! Fine for a bit of volume, not fine at all for a decent sounding system.
