After my recent EGR cleaning experiences and the acceleration problems that other people have reported, I thought I'd get a spare EGR valve in. I bought a reconditioned one off ebay, then wondered if the car would mind if I blanked the EGR pipe off.
I connected the plug to my spare valve, then took the car for a drive - this simulated blanking the EGR valve as the one physically fitted to the engine would remain closed while the car wouldn't see a problem as it was still electrically connected to a working EGR valve.
The car drove very well with no problems, and no lights on the dash, so it would appear that I can drive the car with the EGR valve blanked off. I've since swapped the plug back over and put the spare valve back in its box.
The question for everyone is; should I? :chin:
