very very poor service from ds motorsport.took my car there to be fixed and well long story cut short, basicly they collected my car after it started having problems and i hadent been with ds motorsport before so as a plonker that i am i trusted them.all was ok when they started working on the car untill i had to keep ringing to find out how the car was goin, only answer i kept geting was they dont know and to call back.2 months had gone by and there was still no progress.a lot of the work they said thay had done hadnt because the garage (THOR) have told me alot of the work that apparently had been done hadnt.i decided to move the car and the day i cam to collect it i found a lot of damage to the front wing...... nothing to do with ds motorsport apperently untill 1 of the lads came out and said it had been like that for a few days and the fella who recoverd it does a lot of work with tvr so i knew it wasnt him.any way i moved the car to thor and there doin a great job and there very friendly.to be honest ds motorsport are a bunch of clowns who havent got a clue what there doing.there was never any customers there and in total it has cost me over £680 to have the clowns play with my car.

the garage is called DS motorsport in ansty/shilton unit 3 just of junction 2 of the m6. i would advise any1 in the coventry area NOT to go there. any qs jus ask and i will do my best.sorry if its not very good info tyson.......

My name is Dan and I am the owner of DS Motorsport. My response here is toset the record straight. No complaint has every been made to DS Motorsport andTyson himself called in to let us know how things were getting on only a fewdays ago with no signs of discontentment whatsoever.

Tyson brought the car to us after it had been played around with by a numberof amateurs, (his own admission) and it was in a complete state. A large numberof simple issues needed addressing before even a simple diagnosis was worthdoing. These issues were all communicated to Tyson and he agreed to let us geton with the work.

My initial diagnosis was that the wiring harness was in a state of disarrayand that there could well be an ECU problem, but that we don't have the facilitiesto test the ECU. The cost of rectifying this was considered prohibitive and itwas agreed that we would continue to test components and replace wherenecessary in the most probable and cost effective order. The running of the carimproved at each step and all of the work that we said we completed on the carwas completed; Tyson has seen the proof himself as we have a concise job cardsystem and many receipts to back this up.

Tyson told me that he could no-longer afford to continue with getting work doneand that he was having the car collected. It would eventually turn out that Iwas initially correct in saying that the ECU was faulty and Thor have sincebeen in agreement.

Tyson agreed to bring payment for work that we had done but continually madeexcuses as to why he hadn't come to pay. After getting suspicious as to whetherthe payments would come at all, we suspended work on his car and he wasinformed of this. The work could have been completed within a week if paymenthad been forth coming and he was also made aware that we are very busy(contrary to his comments of no customers) and that we would fit it in when wewere available.

The damage on the front wing was there from day one and we never said thatit had been there “a few days” but had been there since the start. The car isso badly damaged on every single panel I’m amazed he even suggested that we haddamaged it. It smacked of someone trying to get something for nothing.

I’m really disappointed that Tyson has decided the best way to resolve aproblem is to attempt to name and shame a company on a forum instead ofspeaking to the company in question. We have never had a single complaint fromour customers in over 6 years of business but will take a complaint of thisnature very seriously.

We have many satisfied customers and the testimonials on our website are atestament to our high quality of work and professionalism.

I don't know either of you but my impression reading both statements is that you give a very clear and concise account of the work you have carried out. If Tyson had made an official complaint against you or your company then maybe his statement on here would have more merit.
You have done all that you can. People will make their own mind up !

If you don't mind me asking how did you know to come on here and defend yourself, did he tell you he was going to slate you on this forum?

I'm with DS Motorsport UK Ltd to be honest. I'm sure if a professional company knows they have done wrong they will work to rectify it, not come onto a forum to make excuses and lie.

I'm not saying DS is perfect BUT, as above, if i was a lying car garage i wouldn't waste my time posted what they have, and definitely not bothered to go into such length and detail.

Also boyracertyson, the username explains the damage (y)

Maybe an idea DS motorsport

In college there always banging on about the customer prechecks before working on the car

one of which is a body inspection with the customer present when they arrive, to which they sign for there and then and has no grounds to say damage was done - as you have his signiture saying damage was present

This could for well have also helped in this case - saving the arguement of
They damaged my car

Just a thought - it makes customer feel like there pride and joy is actually gonna be taken care off if you have the basic examination checks

Have been told to take the post down.even though everything I have stated is true.yes the car had a lot of damage as it was vandalised a few weekend before,I have lots of pics and witnesses before it went to Ds Motorsport.they deny causing the damage to the car and tried to blame the recovery driver, even though I was very angry with Ds Motorsport I still paid the remaining balance,I told Ds Motorsport I could no longer afford to pay because I was sick of the waiting around for the car to be fixed so I decided to change garages, the reason why it has come to this is simple.daniel scrase was either on holiday or all ways to busy.i have invoices from both garages and the main problem is fan says he doesn't have the equipment or facility to check the ecu,if that's the case then why couldn't he tell me?there excuse to this is oh well we were trying other bits and bobs to the car.Thor confirmed after they received the car that injector 2 and 3 did not work at all,the deals were old and split.all of this nonsense has caused a lot of stress and all that needed to be done is fix the car.it has nothing to do with money as I spent £460 at Ds and nearly £2000 at Thor.i have had no problems with Thor.good communication they do there job properly and finally they treat my pride and joy with car.what happend to having our own opinion, well apparently all this is untrue and I'm liable for prosecution for slander!

True ... but i would rather spend the money on a car that is worth it.

That amount of money is probably over double the cars worth.

I've spent almost £1000 on my £1400 Punto and i've told myself if anything else needs doing, i'll sell up.

Better the devil you know. Once you've been motoring for several years you'll realise you take maket value with a pinch of salt when getting work done. So what have you spent that's £1k out of interest?

Have to agree with this. After over 30 years of driving and owning cars -- everything from a 20-year-old Beetle to a brand-new Clio, and lots of low-mileage, big German barges in-between, etc.... -- and often covering several tens of thousands of miles per year in (some of) them... -- most of the time (if not all of it...), I would rather repair a car I knew (unless it deserves to be put out of its misery, of course...), than plump good money on a car I knew nothing about (with all the risks that entails...).

Market value is only of relevance when/if you come to sell... -- and even then it's only a guide. You will only get what someone is willing to pay for it....

£200 major service + brake shoes

£360 front suspension, discs, suspension bearings (i got ripped off by a crap garage)

£380 new coil and HT leads due to missfire, MOT and floor panel corrosion fix.

So the majority are actually on consumables which all cars need replacing. Can't say I see your logic unfortunately. What engines your Punto got? £380 for HT leads and coil sounds like you've been taken for a ride :(
