hey all - i'm in need of your help.

I have sent my car to the garage afer it was hit by someone/something, which resulted in 4 inches of the alloy rim to be snapped off.

I took the car to the garage, to investigate any damage behind the wheel, and he said, although it's not certain, if i got another alloy and tyre, he should just get tracking done and all should be well.

Today, i received the new wheel etc. and took it to him to have it fitted, only to be called by him a couple of hours later, telling me the "shocker" was bent, and needing replaced. Once done...he can then continue tracking etc.

For those of you who are mechanically minded - does his make sense? Should he not have seen this before? And if it is needing changed, how much do you think he should charge for the part and labour? Maybe you have other comments etc regarding this?

Thanx in advance guys - any help is much appreciated

I think the clincher here is the mechanic saying 'should'. If something's hit the rim hard enough to snap a chunk off, I should think damage to the shock absorber is more than likely.

Then again tho, I'm as mechanically minded as a dead fish, so I'm probably talking rubbish.

It's wrong, so very, very wrong.........
I love my Brava
