What a bitch of a job, took me n me dad from 8am to 5pm to change the front ones!! The nylon topnut had welded itself onto the thread so had to melt the nylon to get the bolt off!! then when i had nearly finished i over-torqued one of the three bolts in the turret under the bonnet and twisted the head clean off, so had to get another bolt to fit that!!

Has made an amazing difference to how the car handles and goes over bumps and potholes etc. Now i need some lowering springs!! Can anyone reccommend any?

Cheers

shockers

Go for the Gmax 40mm drop sptings it would have been easier to replace these when you were doing the shocks as you need to remove the front shocks again but hey you know what your doing know the springs are about 100 quid or so

Re: shockers

And this time only do the bolts up to the specified torque ;)

Re: shockers

@ Tom:I couldnt believe it when the top of the bolt twisted off, didnt realise the torque wrench let you carry on tightening when you had reached the required level!!
@ jason:I'm thinking of gmax ones as quite a few ppl have them on here. It should be easy to remove the shocks again as i greased most of the bolts etc so they hopefully wont weld themselves together like they did before
